Hey Wanderers!

Banff just gave us the perfect reason to plan a little getaway 👀

After being closed for around 7 months, the Banff Upper Hot Springs have officially reopened — and honestly, this might be the best time to go before peak summer crowds hit.

So what actually changed?

You might not notice a huge difference visually, but a lot has been updated behind the scenes to make the experience smoother.

They’ve improved accessibility, refreshed parts of the space, and added upgrades to help with safety during colder months.

Basically… same vibe, just better overall experience.

Why people love it

If you’ve never been, this is one of those Banff experiences that just hits different.

You’re sitting in naturally heated water, surrounded by mountains, with steam rising around you… it’s such a peaceful reset.

The water stays warm (around 37–40°C), so it’s perfect even on cooler days.

Before you go

Here’s a quick breakdown so you know what to expect:

🕐 Open daily: 1 PM – 10 PM
📍 Banff Upper Hot Springs
💰 Around $20 per person

No bookings needed, but it’s first come first served

If you can, go earlier in the day or on a weekday — it gets busy fast.

A few quick tips

  • Don’t stay in too long (1–2 hours is ideal)
  • Take breaks and drink water
  • Parking can be a pain, so transit might be easier

Final thoughts

If Banff has been on your radar lately, this is definitely something to add to your list.

It’s simple, relaxing, and one of those experiences that always ends up being a highlight of the trip.
