My sister has two rescue dogs. I say this because if you’ve ever been around a rescue animal and watched them go from nervous and uncertain to fully, chaotically at home, you understand on a cellular level why organizations like pause4change exist and why they need support.
Those two dogs have completely changed our family, holidays are louder now, family dinners involve more playtime, and every single time I see them, I think about the fact that someone had to choose to save them first.
So when we found out that the 6th Annual Pints4Pups + Purrs Fundraiser was coming up on April 25th, we wanted to make sure our Wanderers community knew about it. This is exactly the kind of evening worth your Saturday night.
pause4change has been showing up for Calgary’s animals since 2012. This is one night where you can show up for them.

What pause4change actually does
pause4change is a Calgary-based dog and cat rescue that’s been operating since 2012, run entirely by volunteers. They pull animals in need from across western Canada, cover medical expenses out of pocket, and work to find them permanent homes.
No paid staff or big corporate backing. It’s legit just a dedicated group of people doing the work because someone has to.
Every ticket sold at Pints4Pups helps cover the medical costs of the animals currently in their care. So the $55 you spend on a Saturday night out genuinely goes somewhere that matters.
pause4change is a registered charity (Charity #846295574 RR0001). Donations can also be made directly if you can’t make the event but still want to contribute.
The online auction is worth a look even if you can’t attend
The auction runs online and closes April 25th at 10 PM, meaning you don’t have to be at the event to bid. And the donor list this year is genuinely impressive. We’re talking local restaurants, golf courses, spas, distilleries, sports teams, and experiences across Calgary and Alberta.

Tickets for the evening are available on the pause4change website, pre-purchase is required, so don’t leave it to the last minute. If you want to bid in the auction without attending, that’s open online too and runs until 10 PM on April 25th.
