Whether you’re managing celiac disease, living gluten-free by choice, or you’re just the person in your friend group who always checks the menu first, this one is for you. The Calgary Gluten Free Expo is back, and it’s landing at the BMO Centre at Stampede Park on April 19th, 2026.

We’re sharing this one because we know it matters to a lot of you in our community. Calgary’s gluten-free scene has come a long way, and an event like this, speakers, local brands, product discovery, and community in one place, is genuinely worth a day of your time.

One of the most practical food-focused events in Calgary this spring, and the speaker lineup is no joke.

Think of this as a full day of gluten-free discovery, local brands showcasing new products, industry experts on stage, and a community of people who genuinely get it. If you’ve ever felt like navigating gluten-free eating is a full-time job, this expo is basically a shortcut: everything worth knowing, in one hall, in one afternoon.

The exhibition floor brings together brands and innovators from across the gluten-free space, so whether you’re looking for new pantry staples, baking alternatives, or just want to taste-test everything in sight, there’s something for you here.

This year’s speaker schedule is genuinely strong. Three sessions, all inside the Exhibition Hall, and each one is practical rather than preachy, which we appreciate.

Calgary Celiac Association

Mainey Cookson & Dee Murphy

Both speakers bring their own celiac diagnoses into the room alongside years of community advocacy. Their session is interactive — expect to have your assumptions challenged about what’s actually gluten-free and what isn’t. A good one to catch if you’re newer to this lifestyle.

Shelley Case

Registered Dietitian, Speaker & Best-Selling Author

Shelley is one of the most respected voices in the gluten-free space internationally, and she lives with celiac disease herself — so the advice comes from both research and real life. Her session focuses on up-to-date, evidence-based strategies for managing a gluten-free diet long term. Newly diagnosed or ten years in, this one is worth your seat.

Cinde Little

Everyday Gluten Free Gourmet — Cooking Instructor & Food Blogger, Calgary

A Calgary local and one of the most trusted GF cooking educators around. Her session, Understanding Gluten Free Flour, breaks down the actual role of different flours, starches, and binders — the stuff that makes or breaks your baking. If your gluten-free baked goods have ever come out wrong and you had no idea why, Cinde will explain it.

Tickets are on sale now, you can grab yours directly through the Gluten Free Expo website. The event runs 10 AM to 3 PM, so you’ve got a solid window to do the speaker sessions and still walk the exhibition floor without feeling rushed.

Hall D at the BMO Centre is easy to get to, and Stampede Park has parking. If you’re taking transit, the Erlton/Stampede LRT station puts you right there.

Go with the person in your life who’s always been patient about finding you something safe to eat, they’ll probably learn a thing or two too.

Because we believe we are all made to wander, sometimes that means wandering through an expo hall with a lot of free samples. ✨
