Spend Canada Day at one of Calgary’s most historic spots with a full day of free programming inside The Confluence’s restored buildings and parkland. Free cultural-centre admission gets you into new exhibits and the Hunt House and Metis Cabin tours, with crafts, lawn games, and an Indigenous artisan market on the grounds. The day’s centrepiece is an Indigenous Spotlight and Powwow featuring Metis jigging and Inuit throat singing, and Notable Figures of Calgary walking tours run twice during the day.

The City of Calgary’s flagship Canada Day celebration takes over Prince’s Island Park with a free outdoor main stage headlined by Walk off the Earth, plus performances from Micah Sage, Jamie Fine, Kardinal Offishall, and Tia Wood. Expect a family-friendly beer garden, playground area, picnic spots, and an evening crowd settling in for the fireworks finale launched from Stampede Park around 11 p.m. Part of a downtown-wide celebration with simultaneous programming at the Confluence, Olympic Plaza, Eau Claire Plaza, and East Village.
