The Calgary Stampede Midway is packed with new food every year, and while trying everything isn’t exactly realistic, we’re giving it our best shot.

After sharing Part 1, we headed back to the midway to try even more of this year’s offerings. Some completely exceeded our expectations, while others were good but probably wouldn’t be our first pick next time.

Here’s everything we tried in Part 2.

Truffle Lobster Dumplings – The Dumpling Hero

💰 $25
7.5/10

These were rich, creamy, and packed with lobster flavour. The truffle adds something different, although it may be a little overpowering if you’re not a huge truffle fan.

Would we order them again? Probably if we’re sharing.

Traditional Dumplings – The Dumpling Hero

💰 $18
8/10

Sometimes simple wins.

These were crispy, flavourful, and much easier to eat than the lobster version. If you’re looking for a solid midway meal, we’d recommend these.

Crispy Queen Arepa – Arepas Ranch

💰 $17.77
7/10

The fried chicken was crispy and the arepa itself had great texture. Overall it was enjoyable, but compared to some of the other foods we tried this year, it didn’t quite stand out enough for us.

Gluten-Free All Beef Corn Dog

💰 $12
8/10

Finding gluten-free options at large events isn’t always easy, so this was a nice surprise.

It had a good crunch, plenty of flavour, and didn’t feel like a compromise compared to a traditional corn dog.

Summer Sunrise

💰 $9
8/10

Refreshing, fruity, and perfect for a hot Stampede afternoon.

Coconut Croc

💰 $9
8.5/10

This ended up being our favourite drink of the day.

Creamy, tropical, and something we’d happily order again.

Our Overall Thoughts

One of our favourite parts of Stampede is discovering new midway food every year.

Some dishes are definitely created for social media, while others are genuinely delicious and those are the ones we’re always looking for.

Our favourites from this round?

🥇 Coconut Croc
🥇 Traditional Dumplings
🥇 Gluten-Free All Beef Corn Dog

We’re still making our way through more of this year’s midway menu, so keep an eye out for Part 3.
